Hotel IFU

IFU Hotel is a boutique hotel comprising of 41-keys, which incorporates the location’s rich history with traces of the Portuguese heritage. 

Located on a historic site which used to be Macau’s main fishermen’s port, the site still carries the legacy of a traditional fishing quarter. The client’s intention was to allow travellers to experience the local cultures of Macau in a small, intimate hotel setting.

The interior design was driven by a material palette that reflects the tactility and vernacular of the location’s history. This approach was applied throughout the hotel’s reception, bar and guest rooms.

On the other hand, the architectural built form is defined by clean geometric shapes, driven by the existing streetscape that forms the wider urban context.

Each level of the hotel adopts a variation on the overall scheme, providing guests a different experience and a sense of anticipation on each return journey.
